Ready for a BIG change!
So My boyfriend and I have been saving to get a place of our own and we always ponder the question of whether we should rent, rent to own, or try and buy. I have always felt that renting is a total waste of money unless you’re military and you rent as you travel from place to place,unless you’re stationed permanently. The problem with us buying is that we are young and we may not be together “forever”. Another issue we are facing is the fact that I’m about to start community college full time and work part time so wherever we rent/buy, the payments have to be kind of low considering he doesn’t make enough to support both of us alone. If we do end up renting I would prefer a house or a townhouse. Apartments worry me because if one catches on fire, the ones around it usually do too. Also we were wondering what a good amount of money would be to put down on a house if we bought?
